Just install and follow directions. If I remember correctly you should pay some attention to the textfiles about how to flush the RAM before shutting down. Well, that is if you use it at a regular base of course.
If you only need to read an old left-over partition you will do good with the free version.

NTFS for Win98 allows Windows 95/98/Me systems to use the NTFS file system. Normally, users of dual-boot environments who want to share data between the Windows operating systems must configure their systems using FAT drives, which are limited to a maximum size of
2GB maximum. With NTFS for Win98 your Windows 95/98/Me system is able to access any Windows volume, regardless of its file system.

Anyway you paid $50 for that
