Hi,

I have a perplexing modem problem. The modem is integrated into the motherboard and functions perfectly on its first use after boot or a reboot. The problem occurs when you try to reconnect after that first time. It keeps coming back with an error that it can't detect a dial tone. Reboot and all is fine. But try to reconnect after the first connect and it can't detect the dial tone again. Any ideas about what might be causing this problem?

Thanks,
Tomboy

What does the error say specifically?
Also try updating the driver.

The error is a dialog box that says:

No dialtone detected

Two options are given: retry or cancel.

It acts like the modem is left in a uninitialized (or whatever) state after a session is terminated and it doesn't properly handle the AT commands when a reconnect is attempted. I think I have the latest drivers installed, but I will go back and recheck them.

Thanks,
Tomboy
