Many media players were introduced to the world since the development of MP3 format. WinAmp is such a popular player among many consumers since early days. Later new audio codecs were introduced such as Microsoft's Windows Media Audio and RealNetworks' Real Audio, and therefore new players were introduced to support those codecs as well. Windows Media Player 7.1, 8, 9 and RealONE are such players which also has the encoding capabilities. WinAmp is free, and also Windows Media Player is free which is bundled with your copy of Windows. Players such as MusicMatch JukeBox and RealONE player are products which needs to be purchased to have the full functionality, but they win consumers' choice by their own special features. It would be interesting to know what is the most popular Player/Jukebox people use

Here is my vote first to Windows Media Player 9Beta. it allows me to encode to the latest Windows Media Audio format (version 9) which allows me to choose VBR50 to rip Audio CDs. I don't use the Protect Content function as I want to back my music collection up to CDRs. There are so many new features I like in this version, although there are more to be expected in the future. I hope those features will be present in the final build of this player. Unlike MusicMatch JukeBox this player, automatically adds the appropriate Album Art to the Album folder. Unlike any other player, it is very well integrated with Windows as it acts as a mini player in the Windows XP Task Bar, which I likes very much. It has got many other unique feature which cannot be described here.

WinAmp. Easiest to use, and I never looked at the others.

some ppl seem to have probs with winamp3
they reckon there are some issues with the video codecs provided by winamp3, like the video plays up-side-down or something.

hey WMP is in the lead, up to now
