Wine is an implementation of the Windows Win32 and Win16 APIs on top of X and Unix. Think of Wine as a Windows compatibility layer. Wine provides both a development toolkit (Winelib) for porting Windows sources to Unix and a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows 3.x/95/98/ME/NT/W2K/XP binaries to run under Intel Unixes. Wine works on most popular Intel Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris.

This is release 20021007 of Wine, a free implementation of Windows on
Unix
(Not like Lindows crap. This is still a developers only release. There are many bugs and unimplemented features.
ChangeLog:
Massive listview rewrite.
New MS RLE codec.
winemaker should be working again.
Beginnings of Direct3D 8 support.
Lots of bug fixes.

Hmm...though I respect your opinion Free, TMK the way Lindows runs windows apps is -through- an implimentation of the current wine code... Maybe this is wrong, but if I'm not wrong, your comment seems odd to me. My opinion. :P

code experience.
Lindows is based on Wine (a free Api).
But I guess that you are a happy Lindows customer, don't you?.
/me don't wanna start a lame discussion (sorry, are you a teen?) what is better... or the well knowed vs. discussion. I don't have time to do it and I tired to discuss this type of things... Sorry. If you are happy with Lindows, good for you. I just said my opinion.

[End Of Discussion]

No I am not a teenager (what anyone that questions you is?), I asked you to qualify your statement is all, Happy Lindows user not really, but I follow it. You made an unqualified statement.
Have you even tried Lindows??

So you express your opinion and when challenged your to tired??

Wine is included with Lindows not based on, so your statement is incorrect.

How about this from the president of lindows:
[quote] The wine included in each LindowsOS version is close to the latest and greatest. Sometimes we'll be a minor release behind.
