windows media player 2799

i have just upgraded to WMP 9 version 2799. Now when i double click on an mp3 i get following error message.

0x80040265: Windows Media Player does not support this file type


However if i go to File > Open the mp3 opens and plays correctly. double clicking seems to create a tmp file which WMP tries to open and can't.


Any help would be appreciated

as u may be aware, the official beta version WMP9 is out in M$ sites.
this will fix that.
this thread will be closed after that.
