This version of Nav 2003 Pro is a piece of crap
I hope to see the retail ISO soon
I have this nav 2003 rip installed for a week now and all was fine but today, I try to do a scan and some files are "now" missing and NAV cannot make a scan
I will uninstall it and replace it by Mcafee virusscan until I have the ISO of NAV 2003 Pro

I installed the smaller file sized version (approx. 135 M . It includes CleanSweep and some other stuff I don't use, so I just chose NAV 2003 only on install. I believe it has a better interface. I recommend this approach to installing NAV 2003.

I have not performed a system scan as of yet. I will get back to you Bads1 regarding that.
One thing should be noted to all. The Auto-Protect mode should be disabled during system operation. Auto-Protect is all hype. It will give you potential grief no matter what you do, and it sucks resources bigtime! If you shield your system correctly there is no need for it. Secondly, have the tool set up to scan all e-mail (at least all received e-mail) and all downloaded files. This leaves you responsible for scanning any media introduced to your system. If you all do your homework, you will find that this is the up to date way to set up anti-virus software. I have been doing this for years with positive results.

Here is my experience, hope it helps a bit.
Basically I had some the same problem as greasemonkey, with both NAV 2003 pro and NAV 2003. However, I can install NAV 2003 through systemworks. This made me think that something wrong with my WXP services (like you all, I disabled a lot of services). Therefore, I tried to enable all XP services--set all the disabled services to 'manual'. Guess what, I installed both NAV 2003 pro and NAv 2003 smoothly (not through systemworks 2003, of course). Then I set all the changed services back. Run 2003 pro, liveupdate and full system scan, everything was just fine. However, I could not figure out which service provented me from installing. And I cannot enable the automatic update (maybe because I disabled windows autoupdate, just my guess).
Good luck,
printer

Printer, you must be on to something here. Now we need to find out which service is affecting the NAV 2003 install. Thanks for the input.

Bads 1,
I performed a few system scans with the System Works 2003 version of NAV 2003 and can report that it works perfectly.
On another note, I also attempted to install NAV 2003 (non-Pro version) and got the same error as the Pro. I will stick with the System Works version of NAV 2003 for now. Thanks to all for your input. This is a wonderful forum!
