The Radeon 8500 (R200) has landed-check out the preview from Tom's Hardware below:
http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic...814/index.html

Probably the most impressive VillageMark score's I've ever seen...

Imagine playing Q3A at 200fps in 32-bit color

Yep, it has to be said... that new Radeon card looks like it's going to kick some rear.

Nvidia better pull out some more FPS from somewhere to stay in the running at higher res and color settings against ATI's new FPS monster.

Nice one ATI

Well if NV25 is released (since it will probably be in a couple of months due to NVIDIA's 6-month product cycle policy), ATI's would have some real competition. The Radeon 7500 (Radeon II) will be released first then the Radeon 8500 (Radeon III) will be released sometime in early 2002.

whoa whoa whoa
hold it my friend

the Radeon 8500 IS NOT = Radeon 3
8500 is the model formerly known as R200
and 7500 is RV200 ie the cheap "MX" version, or "LE" in Radeons case
8500 will be out in middle of september while 7500 will be out any day now

Whoops...looks like I lost my memory.

Anyway, how much will those 8500s cost over in Sweden? I think a Radeon 64DDR VIVO cost like 550 a couple months ago over there. (wait a sec, is that in krona or US dollars? )

1 dollar = 10 "kronor"
the Radeon was 6000 Kr. at launch in sweden ie 600 dollars

I expect the R8500 to be at least as expensive

Boy, you sure are gettin' ripped off there. If I had the money I'd be happy to move ya over here to the U.S.

Quote from NVIDIA CEO:

"This fall we DO NOT keep the 6 month product cycle!"

Looks like there will be no "GeForce4" this fall hehe...looks like things are gonna go great for ATI!
