Yesterday we reported on Gartner's latest statement, which outlined strong sales of PCs and notebooks. However, Gartner claimed that Vista wasn't a big factor in this growth.
In an exclusive interview with PC Pro, Gartner analyst Ranjit Atwal said: "...there's nothing you can say that Vista does supremely differently [to XP]."
Microsoft, unsurprisingly, prefers to put a more positive spin on the figures. It says that impressive sales of Vista and strong PC and notebook sales go hand in hand: "Demand is strong and our momentum is unprecedented. For instance, with nearly 40M copies sold as of May, Windows Vista is on track to be the fastest selling operating system in Microsoft's history.
