Apple TV is a dud
Steve Jobs gets it wrong claims Fortune magazine

APPLE TV is set to be the biggest turkey since Hagryphus giganteus stalked the Utah plains, according to Fortune magazine.

Fortune editor-at-large Brent Schlender says that the Apple TV is proof that Steve Jobs is mortal and is promising more than he can deliver.
There are few ads for the Apple TV on telly, even though Apple is blitzing the airwaves with iPod and iMac spot, Schlender says. It is almost as if Apple has given up on the beast.

He said that after using one for the last few weeks and thinks it is about as uninspired as another prominent dud, the Zune.

Schlender says that Apple TV could have been a good transitional product that not only made it easier for people to use their computer-based content in the living room but also helped unclutter their home entertainment systems. However it wasn't.

As a result, it makes him question whether or not Jobs will have got the formula right for the iPhone, which will be hitting the shops soon.
