M$ Vista fails to set PC market on fire
So it goes
A REPORT from market research firm In-Stat confirms what the world+dog suspected - Microsoft Vista is hardly boosting PC sales at all.
As usual, corporate buying cycles remain a major factor in PC sales, and most people that want Vista will wait until they buy a new machine rather than upgrade existing models.
Ian Lao, an analyst at In-Stat, said: "System sales that had been muted waiting for systems pre-loaded with Vista rather than XP are expected to work through sales channels in the next two quarters. However, these sales represent an offset from last year rather than actual new demand creation."
