M$ Vista "will ship on time"
No delays says analyst

A WALL STREET analyst has surprised the known world by claiming that Microsoft will ship its super soaraway new Vista operating system on time.

While most of the universe has been saying that Microsoft's operating system is not ready yet to make its deadline, Goldman Sachs analyst Rick Sherlund has sent a note around to clients saying that it will not be delayed.

Reuters quotes Sherlund as saying that the final test version of Vista will be released next week and that a full version will be ready for business customers in November and on retail PCs by late January as planned.

Sherlund said he had been sceptical of the launch schedule, but the team seems to be making great progress in addressing issues of performance, reliability and compatibility. He expects that Microsoft may start providing coupons that PC makers can give away for a free upgrade to Vista from the current Windows XP. Of course he did not say what state the software would be in when it shipped, or if Vole would have gotten rid of most of the bugs in time.
