More horsepower in your lap claims
ATI HAS released its Radeon Xpress 1250 card for laptops.
The new card will make its first appearance in an NEC LaVie L Advanced Type notebook for the Japanese market. Radeon Xpress 1250 is the first Intel-based chipset to support ATI's Avivo display and video architecture. This technology claims to produce "vibrant images" and "smooth video playback", not to mention the ever-important "true-to-life images".
We are yet to see a graphics card press release that promised crap images, jumpy playback and images that looked unreal, so you'll have to forgive the cynicism.
The Radeon Xpress 1250 can handle Windows new Aero Glass features with ease, Spokes Blokes from ATI enthused.
The card works with ATI's SB600 South Bridge support for up to 10 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports, 4 SATA II ports with RAID capability. You can read the press release and be awed
