Apple Invite Sparks iPod Video Rumors

Apple started the rumor mill churning once again today after a flurry of email invites depicting a red curtain with the words "One more thing..." inscribed across it. The invite is for an event scheduled for October 12th at the California Theater in San Jose - the same venue where Apple introduced the iPod Photo and U2 Edition iPod almost exactly one year ago, lending credence to the belief that the announcement involves the iPod product line.

Industry analysts speculate that Apple will unveil a video capable iPod, but the announcement could also involve its Macintosh computer line. Apple holds 75% of the digital music player market, and could be looking to fend off Sony's PSP in the multifunctional music/video player market.
