A FEATURE IN the
Financial Times said that Dell is so fed up with all those stickers from Microsoft and Intel that it has to put on PCs it makes that it's stomping its mighty foot.
But it doesn't seem that Dell is bothered about the tacky look the logos impart to your otherwise handsome notebook, but that it just wants to dump the stickers to save time, and therefore money.
According to the
FT, Dell is talking to Microsoft and Intel to rid its notebooks of other people's advertising.
How this will affect Intel's future LXIV VIIV branded computers remains to be seen, but to both Chipzilla and the Vole, their logos are like holy icons and not to be tampered with.
Never mind that after just a few months of intensive use the logos start to peel and fade and make your machine look even tackier. Intel and Microsoft are sure to dig their heels in on this one. Logos, for the marketeers, are more important than functionality or chip speed. They are completely humourless on the subject, believe you us. According to the
FT,
here, sticking on the logos has become a "significant bottleneck".
