One Stop Systems releases PCIe expansion system
ONE STOP SYSTEMS has announced the release of its PCIe expansion system, the MAX Express PCIe Expansion System. It's the first designed to extend the PCIe bus of a host system to extra PCIe, PCI, PCI-X, PXI and CompactPCI expansion slots.

The MAX Express, which is made up of a 4U chassis, a 20-slot backplane and an Expansion Link Board, plugs into the host slot on the backplane and creates the interface between a x4 PCIe cable and the slots on the backplane.

When combined with One Stop Systems' Host Interface Board and its PCIe cables, the Expansion Link Board can supposedly achieve a driverless and standards-based expansion with up to 100 add-in boards. If you're after the full thing, the ELB begins selling at $598 while the 20-slot backplane is priced at $1,395. The 4U chassis is available at $1,909 in OEM quantities. All products are available right now.
