FIXED........Problem After New Monitor
It has been reformated and new install fixed it.
A friend has installed a new digital style monitor. His os is win 98, now when he turns on the computer it will NOT boot up except in safe-mode or when it does it is only safe mode style colors and resolution. When you go to change the resolution it will only say have to reboot for changes to take place. I checked the box for changes to take place without restarting. He did NOT uninstall the old monitor before installing the new one.
He connected the old monitor back and problem stayed there will only boot when in safe mode.
It is now back on the new monitor which does no different. I checked device manager and found 5 monitors showing to be installed. After uninstalling all the monitors it finally will say default monitor.
He did not have papers with this so I am not even sure it will or not work on windows 98.
Windows 98
Tnt Video Card...Don't know which one
Pentium4 1.4mhz
I told him he may have to upgrade the OS with a CLEAN install, which will be fine with him as long as it fixes it. Any suggestions before I go further.
Thanks
