Chip Giant AMD designed its Alchemy Au1200 chip for personal video players that require DVD-quality video playback yet operate on low power.

The device that has very low power dissipation runs at a speed of 400 or 500 megahertz. The Company is very much confident about the success of this product as it offers a great speed and features while keeping the battery in good and long stand by time.

Prices for the video players are expected to be $499 to $699.
