XP "strange admin account" in C/P
Hi

I installed XP Home OEM a week ago and, as I was the only "user", XP would boot straight onto the desktop. All was going well until about three days ago when I turned on the pc and Windows stooped at the login screen with me as the only "visible" user on it.

I could not understand this because I like to turn on the pc, go on make a drink or something and when I come back, the pc is ready for me to use. Anyhow, I put up with this for a couple of days and then decided to look in CP/Users and was amazed to see not only my account + the guest account, but also another account which was not created by me.

The account was called (I think), ASP.NET or AST.NET (administrator) and was passworded. I must stress that this account was not created by me. I decided to try and delete it and it worked, but I would like to know how this account suddenly appeared from nowhere and how it could be created without my knowledge or approval?

BTW: I recently installed my HP PSC 1350 software and during installing, was prmpted to install the .NET framework, which I agreed to. Now the ASP.NET or AST.NET suggests that this account may be something do to with .NET.

Is it and why was it automatically created without my approval?

Regards
