hi everyone

i have recently updated my win xp pro to sp2, and it all went fine, and it all loaded up again perfectly.

however, when the computer was on and running, i was just doing something and because the pc got a bit slow and froze, i was stupid and decided to press the power off button without shutting down.

and now whenever i load up the pc, the options come up where i can select safe mode, last best config. ,etc, etc. However, i've tried all of them and win xp begins to load, but then u get a flash of a blue screen with some writin on it (cant tell cuz the flash is too quick) and then the pc restarts. it happens with all options.

can anyone give me advice on what i can do?

will the win xp pro cd be of any help in repairing the pc, cuz the system restore feature obviously isnt working when i selected it from startup.

any tips?

the last resort will be to format the pc again, but i dont wanna really lose all my photos.

thanks
