Jessica is an unknown quantity at this point
I got this email:

Dear Customer,

A recent scan of the Road Runner network performed by RR Security
(National Office) indicated that your computer system(s) is running an open
and vulnerable proxy server.

Information about this scan can be found at
http://security.rr.com/probing.htm

Open proxies such as this are responsible for much of the spam that we
receive and as such it is imperative that you secure your system or
remove the proxy software immediately. Open proxy servers can be accessed
by anyone on the Internet and used as an open relay to send email to
individuals who haven't requested this information. This unrestricted
access through your server can also be used to attack other computers or
servers, appearing to originate from your computer. Road Runner does
not provide technical support for proxy servers. We suggest that you
refer to your server documentation or server vendor with configuration
questions. Some basic information about securing open proxies can be
found at
http://www.fr1.documents.cyberabuse....bilities&doc=4

Additionally, some users have unknowingly installed proxy programs
through file sharing downloads or through a virus. These unknown proxy
programs may or may not be detected through anti-virus software. Included
below is a list of anti-virus software as well as instructions for
removing unknown proxy programs. Since the majority of these proxy
programs are legitimate programs being used in a malicious way, anti-virus
programs will not detect them as viruses. As stated previously, Road
Runner does not provide technical support for proxy servers. You may be
able to receive additional assistance by contacting a certified computer
technician, your computer manufacturer, or by calling Microsoft (for
Windows operating systems) at 1-866-PCSAFETY.

Because this activity does put our service at risk, as well as our
customers, we do ask that you reply to this letter indicating action has
been taken to resolve this issue. If no action is taken to remedy this
situation, we will have to reconsider the status of your account.

Please confirm within 24 hours that the proxy has been secure/removed
and that your system is now secure. Please note that given the
potential impact of an exploited proxy server on our network and other Internet
users, we may disable the cable modem should your machine appear to be
still vulnerable following future network scans.

Sincerely

Road Runner Regional Security & Abuse Team
