I want to share my feelings related to this and hope some relief

Everytime I am about to format the hard disk, I am in a hesitation to choose which way to format: Quick Format or Format. I understand this is due to my lack of basic knowledge about this. And also this has been influenced by the stuff I heard by people I affliate with. Some of them say Quick Format is harmful for the Hard Disk. Some says both are same, and too much formatting is not good for the lifetime of the Hard Disk. One said, once you Quick Format, you have to defragment the Hard Disk.

By all these influences, I have this feeling that Formatting will shorten the lifetime of the hard disk. And also I have this feeling that Format is better than the Quick Format (related to health of the hard disk).

Can you guys please clear me up in this?
It would be a great help. Thanks...
