In an article on Launch where popular recording artist talks about possibly joining Music United For A Strong Internet Copyright (MUSIC), a group of at least 90 artists campaigning against "illegal" file-swapping, Jewel says this campaign may be somewhat pointless, and interestingly enough becomes the first artist I have heard to admit that she herself downloads music online.
"I shouldn't say this, but I think it's silly to spend money on an ad campaign because kids are going to do what's convenient, and it's the wave of the future. And it's great for kids to be educated and know exactly what they're doing and, it is, in my eyes, stealing, but I download music."
