Motorola handset shipments in free fall

Cellphone sales are still enjoying their phenomenal global shipment growth they have been experiencing since the early 2000s. According to iSuppli, 296.0 million units were shipped in the first quarter of this year, 20.7% more than in Q1 2007. Nokia and Samsung are leading the industry with shipments of 115.5 million and 46.3 million units, respectively.
