As more and more multi-core processors fill our homes and offices, capable CPU coolers have shown up on just about every computer store shelf. Since multi-core processors have been designed to use less and less wattage with more efficiency, thermal issues have been pretty low key. While you may have a dual or quad core, you've probably not really pushed your processor much past single core operations given the limited multi-core software support.
