CHIP GIANT Intel is to slash its workforce by another 2,000 before the end of the year despite posting strong third quarter results.
The latest round of layoffs will bring to 8,000 the total number of
Intel employees shown the door in 2007.
Chipzilla says the move is aimed at reducing costs by $3 billion over a two-year period.
The news came as Intel announced its latest quarterly results, saying demand was better than expected across its businesses and life was generally looking rather rosy.
