I'd hate to see what would show up in my inbox without filters. I use Gmail for everything, including retrievng email from alternate email accounts, and it does a fantastic job of filtering my Gmail. My wife, on the other hand, uses her own domain name for her emails, and despite the fact that she doesn't use it for shopping or mailing lists, she gets a pretty decent amount of spam. Small wonder, with 83% of email being comprised of spam.
