ATI's RD600 will sport three PCIe 16X slots
Crossfire plus physics for Intel's Conroe.

ATI'S UPCOMING Intel-supporting chipset will have access to no less than three PCIe 16X slots.

ATI sees filthy lucre around the physics buzzword and wants to prove that it can do it on the right way. ATI will start preaching that you can use two graphic cards in Crossfire for top gaming performance and you can the third slot for physics.

This ought to be the fastest chipset for the top-performing Conroe CPUs. The irony is that it now comes from ATI, the company now owned by AMD.

ATI's chipset partners confirmed that they will keep making the boards for Intel-based ATI chipsets but we don't know how long will this last. Nvidia will stick with two 16 PCIe lanes for a while.
