GAMES PUBLISHER Take-Two Interactive Software, said it received grand jury subpoenas requesting more information about its infamous Grand theft Auto Hot Coffee scenes.


The company said it has been requested to reveal just how much its officers and directors really knew about "the creation, inclusion and programming of hidden scenes" in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The latest subpoenas were issued by the District Attorney of the County of New York on June 19, 2006, and request documents covering various periods beginning on October 1, 2001.

The New York DA also asked for information relating to the submission of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to the Entertainment Software Rating Board for a rating, and the company's disclosures regarding the hot coffee 'mod'.

When the INQUIRER originally asked Take 2's Rockstar spokesman about how the "Hot Coffee" scenes came about, we asked the question a Paxmanesque 13 times without getting an answer.

Now the DA is stirring the waters again. It also demands various bit and pieces related to Takes 2's accounting practices and some background behind some acquistions the comany has made. Take 2 said it is "fully cooperating and providing the requested documents". And, as far as it is aware, neither it, nor "any specific individual" is a target of the investigation.
