Firefox vs IE
everyone,

I have seen lots of people referring to the Mozilla Firefox browser and that's it's faster and better than IE. So I decided to download it and install it for myself.

Been running with Firefox for almost a day now and I'm not sure yet if it's better then IE. Haven't yet got an error with Firefox. I installed some extensions, which seems that firefox is more customizable then IE.

I would like to know what you guys use and what you think of the 2 browsers.

I'll setup a poll to indicate what you use.

Which one is and which one makes you scream for .

Cheers

Definitely Firefox is my browser of choice. In my opinion, its a lot more stable than IE and it has some awesome possibilites for adding to it. What comes stock with firefox that I absoultely love is the built in google search shortcut. Typing "g <search string>" in the URL bar will google search for your search string and bring you the results. Very nice It also has similiar functions for dictionary.com and you can add your own search shortcut. Plus, it seems that a lot more people have been investing time into pointing out the flaws in IE and exploiting them (we know there are lots of them, come on... its M$, would you expect anything less? ) and firefox doesnt seem to have those massive amounts of bugs. But then again, I could be ignorant on that topic, I havent really done my research on flaws in firefox. But all in all, I prefer firefox over IE any day of the week.

I'm testing Firefox too, as I hear it's less vulnerable.

For me Firefox itself isn't impressive but Firefox useful extensions is really useful: SessionSavor + Tab Browser Preferences + FlashGot.

Same here, switched over a couple of day ago and so far I like what I see. I have also installed several extensions and I love the tabbed browsing. I've found a few shortcuts that's not documented like ctl+click to open links in the background. I do have an option to lock tabs that I haven't figured out yet, it doesn't seem to do anything that I can find.

Firefox Wins No Contest. Microsoft's browser sucks... and to think they've accually gotten sued for including it in their OS. Most I know at my college are using FireFox now.

FireFox Whats that?
FireFox Never heard of it hmmm. I like the Name tho. I have been using FireFox since last spring while it was still in Beta. I was Never a Big fan of Netscrape, but they have come a long way.
I find that not only are the extension helpful / useful, I love the Tabbed browsing, Spoofstick, Imagezoom, right click bypass, intergrated bugmenot, flashget, just to name a few. But the biggest feature that I liked as integrated, was the pop up blocker ( Even though I enjoyed the popup blocker with the Google toolbar (IE) I like the abilty to type i.e. Betaone without the http or www or the .net , .com right into the addy bar (kind of a feel luck with google. My favorite feature of Firefox is tabbed browsing I know that myIE etc also do the tabbed browsing. So far I also like the quicker response of FF.

@Firefox, you are probably aware of this, however: MF hasn't got the complete Tabbed Environment. Sometimes when you click links from external applications they open in a New Window. I hated when that happened. To act it like Opera, you will need Tabbrowser Preferenced (TBP).
http://www.pryan.org/mozilla/site/TheOneKEA/tabprefs/

I have heard that TBE (Tab Browser Extensions) is not recommended to be used. So everybody who are using TBE should move to TBP or something similar.

I use Maxthon and Firefox.....both have their advantages...

If you wanna speed-up Firefox, check this page:

I tried it,and for me,the difference is noticable..
