EVERY SUMMER we wonder who will win the big Medion deal and got its cards in two to three thousand hundred PCs that get sold in a matter of hours in many Aldi and Hofer stores around Europe.
These PCs are generally packed full of features but priced very attractively compared to similar machines you can buy elsewhere.
Nvidia got the deal after two years of ATI cards being inside and the cards are, as always, made by MSI. Nvidia managed to sell its new coming NV43 card that we already mentioned here.
Many people told us that there is not a great deal of profit to made from these deals, but even if you earn only two bucks you will end up with a saucy $400, 000 without doing much work.
It is an eight pipeline card and it will be very hard to coexist with Geforce 6800LE. That's why LE might not be allowed to go for sale in the retail market as it's more expensive to produce.
Yes, we expect that the Medion PCs will be PCI Express ready with support for 775 CPUs, but we've no confirmation of that at press time.
