adams is an unknown quantity at this point
i have acquired a socket 370 motherboard from work. i'm wondering what range of cpu's will work in it.

the chipset is intel so i know it has to be a pentium/celeron cpu. the guy told me it is a pentium 3 motherboard, but i want to know if any pentium 3's (as long as its a socket 370) will work or is there only specific ones?

also is there a way i can get a model # from it so I can get more info on the board?

thanks.

a socket 370 P3 m-board supports a P3(Coppermine) from 500MHz to 1.0 GHz and a P3-Celeron from 533MHz to 1.1GHz. The board should have the model number printed on it close to an edge, or sometimes between the slots.

Info from this site: http://www.geek.com/procspec/procspec.htm

If the m/b also supports a Tualatin P3, it'll take up to a 1.2GHz P3 or a 1.4GHz Celeron.
