I have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe and also one A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard, and so I guess these boards or for that matter all nForce2 boards do not have SATA support, atleast not support in the way I am looking for. Therefore unless you have an Intel board you will always have to press F6 during Windows install and provide drivers thru a floppy for SATA drives to be recognized, is that it?
