Got an email from Comcast last night, saying that they have DOUBLED my speeds, and not raised the prices; just uplug your modem, re set it, and you are there...

And, amazingly, I did it and the speed has just about doubled;

If you have Comcast cable modem service, reboot your modem and see what happens!

I am sure they will be raising rates shortly, but until them, why not enjoy! :P :P

I recieved a similar message from Charter Communications, here in Fort Worth, TX, last September or October saying that they were increasing my connection speed to 2.0 Mb Download without any additional charges and they followed through as well. My DL is faster than most T1 lines (but the upload still sucks comparatively).

I think this is still a great deal...especially when there isn't a locally available DSL line that gives anywhere near those speeds.

Anyway, its good to hear that everyone is getting both good speeds and cheap prices.

I called Comcast after I saw this posted here and, the tech support lady told me that they are sending out emails to the Primary acct as to inform when the upgrade will take place. In regards to what it should increase my speed to; 3.5 Meg DL and 512 K upload!!! This is awesome!!

The speed is nice (have had since Nov). They're now enforcing the invisible cap.
