DivX --> VCD
Follow these steps to make a DivX or Avi to a VCD, so you can watch the films on most DVD players or even your Dreamcast!
1. You will have to split the file in half if it is over 60 mins (you can actually have 74 min's just like an audio quality, but if you put 74 mins on one cd the quality won't be that good.
To split the film in half use Virtual Dub, download from
http://www.virtualdub.org/index
- open virtual dub
- Open the Film (FileOpen Video File)
- Go to EditSet Selection Start
- Scroll the pointer to where you want to stop the first half of the film
- Then go to EditSet Selection End
- Go to VideoDirect stream copy
- Then go to AudioDirect stream copy
- This is the first half, go to FileSave Avi, and name it filmname1 (This will take about 3-4 minutes)
- When finished, let the middle of the movie be the "Set selection start" and the end the "Set selection end"
- Save the Avi again, call it part 2 and hey presto...
2. Buring the Avi to VCD
For this you will need to have Nero 5.5, download from
http://www.ahead.de/en/download.htm
Download the crack from
http://astalavista.com/
You will first need to find out if it is PAL or NTSC
- Open explorer, right click on the movie file, select properties, go to the Details tab
- On the very last line you will see whether it is PAL or NTSC, if it says unknown format then take a guess!
- Open Nero 5.5
- Select FileNew
- Select VCD from the left hand side
- Click the new button
- Drag the movie file you want to burn into the empty window on the lower left hand side
- Select FileWrite CD
- Go to the Video CD tab
- Select the Encoding Resolution accordingly (PAL ot NTSC)
- Click the Write button and she's off..
