Hello,

I have an administrator account but I don't have all the user rights for making a setup

I don't have access to the second CD of my program ??

---------------------------

---------------------------
Error 1311.Source file not found: G:\Release.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
---------------------------
---------------------------

How can I modify that to have access to this "Release.cab"

Thanks for your help

AFAIK this is not related to Windows User Rights. The file system in CDs i.e. CDFS do not have that facility which NTFS offers.
It more looks like the Release.cab is corrupted. Or did you try copying the installation files to HDD and then install?

More than likly just coping to your hard drive will work. C that is.

I always have this problem with cab files. It is not that they are currupted either. I think a serivce might have something to do with it.

Because I only get this problem once all my settings and services have been tweaked. But not that big of a deal.

Even had this problem with Office 2003. The offical microsoft beta cds that is. I have had this problem since office 97 though so. So who knows.

But that should solve your problem. If not then scan the hard drive for errors beforce you copy the cab file from the cd. Sometimes that works.

It is not corrupted because it works on another PC

Does the software requires you to insert the second CD while installing? (Just like in Visual Studio .net).

First try copying the CD with the Release.cab to the HDD and installing. If it asks for the location of the second CD, then choose your CDROM drive.

BTW, I just thought telling you to try UltraISO or WinISO to get an ISO image of the CD and mount the image by DAEMON Tools, then try.

Good Luck!

Or, you can try copying them to different folders, and when it asks for the location, click on Browse, and find the folder that you copied the cd to.

For example, for the first cd, you would put it in a folder named "Disc 1" and for the second cd, "Disc 2." Then, you would start the installation from the folder "Disc 1," and when it asks for "Disc 2," click Browse and find the folder "Disc 2."

Did that make sense?

Thanks to all of you

All is ok now, install right from the hard drive

I think I don't have all the rights for installing from the CD_Rom drive
