A PATCH FOR INTERNET EXPLORER has been released by Microsoft to fix an earlier patch it released on February 5th to fix a security flaw.
Got that?
The latest patch fixes the earlier patch because the earlier patch created a fresh problem that the later patch now fixes.
Microsoft said: "This bulletin was originally issued on February 5, 2003. Subsequent to its release, an issue was discovered with this update that could affect some users?primarily consumers?under certain conditions. Specifically, the issue could cause some users to be unable to authenticate to certain Web sites, such as subscription-based sites, or MSNŽ e-mail. This issue has been resolved, and a hotfix (813951) issued to correct it."
So far so good?
