UK MANUFACTURER Evesham has got delirious over the power of AMD's Barton chip, perhaps forgetting that it also sells Intel-based PCs too, today.
The firm, in a press release to Her Majesty's Hackery, said Evesham and AMD share the performance crown, quoting a review in UK magazine PC Pro that claims to show the Barton is the fastest processor on the planet.
The announcement said: "Evesham Technology has confirmed the AMD Athlon XP 3000+ is the "world's highest performing PC processor" today".
But when asked to say if this means an Evesham PC with a Barton chip inside was better than an Evesham PC with an Intel chip inside, the firm said it couldn't possibly comment.
But, the spinner added, it's certainly better than a Dell with an Intel chip inside.
