What´s your opinion? Should I(you) buy the most powerfull CPU from AMD - Intel , or what?
What do I really need? I´m a ordinary power-user...not interested in the latest games. Sometimes I want to look at a movie or run my Office-programs....

Neither.

If you really want a , PowerPC
you better go for Motorola or IBM :P

More seriously... if you have the money, buy the most powerfull from Intel.
But make sure you get the "right" mainboard, with the most stable chipset.

I do NOT have anything against AMD ( been using it myself for ages, still do ) it gives you much more "bang for the buck's",
but some of the mainboard used for it, has been too unstable, causing a lot of problems...
