rikytik is an unknown quantity at this point
There continues a battle between DVD-R and DVD+R. Pioneer and HP seem to be the 2 rival products available where I live. Advice I saw on ZDNet said if you need a DVD burner stick with the DVD-R until the standards battle is solved.

Any advice form users and experts?

well, you can always take the safe route and buy the sony DRX500UL. this drive tries to encompass the most popular standards by being able to use DVD+R/+RW and DVD-R/+RW and of course, CDR/RW. it's gotten some good reviews so far, and you can find it on some shopping sites for a pretty decent price.
