both of us r now in the same boat hey this cking RAM problems shit.
how's ur prob going now?

well, some mobos support pc133 even they are only at the speed of pc100 but some mobos dont. my mobo works only at pc100, but supports pc133, so they work as if they are pc100.

both (new one and old one) pc133 256mb ram chips are double sided. almost identical. both chips got 8 dimms each side, thus 16 in the both sides.

i dunno what's the fault

then, i thought it should be a problem with my mobo (but still it supports upto 768M so i fixed the new 256MB by itself. then the total RAM showed as 128MB (half of the new RAM). tried in different slots but still the same

I could be wrong but here goes...

If your board supports 768MB, that means 256 max x3 slots correct??

I ran into this awhile back on a Soyo board I had...With some RAM, the board has to support 512 in each slot to be able to use the newer 256 sticks...Otherwise it only recognizes 128MB of a 256 stick....Especially if it's double denisty RAM....As soon as I bought a board that supported 1.5 GB, the same RAM worked perfectly...

Sorry...
