Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz Processor Review

The Intel Pentium 4 processor has come a long way in the last two years. These days, if you want a top of the line system, it's going to have a Pentium 4 inside. Yes, AMD's AthlonXP 2700+ and 2800+ processors are just as powerful, its just that they're almost impossible to find for retail sale while the P4 2.8 GHz has been easily available since its' introduction.

P4's are still too expensive. Maybe I will wait. In the meantime I put a 2GHz Celeron into a Gigabyte board a few days ago & overclocked it to 2.66 this evening. Seems solid so far.

I just install a pentium IV 2.0Ghz yesterday in a new Asus P4S533 + a 512 megs of DDR 333 and all is working nice. No need to reinstall XP, just a repair option.

The Pentium IV 2.0 GHZ cost $310 cdn here and a Pentium IV 2.4 GHZ cost $800 ! Really a big difference to have a FSB of 533

Yeah, I agree with McoreD. But what I'm looking forward is to see the first Intel Processor with 0.09Micron Technology. It'll be dead fast.
