How do I add acpi back into my PC list? I have it enabled in the BIOS. But it won't show up in my list even with show only compatible hardware unchecked.

make sure you have to acpi.sys and acpiec.sys in your c:\windows\system32\drivers folder.

Go to device manager, click on computer, click on standard PC, click driver tab, click update driver, check install from list or specific location, tick dont search and select acpi pc

That's what I tried to do. It is not listed. But I do have those 2 files in there correct locations.

boot off your cd, when it says specify a storage driver, hit f5 and choose acpi computer and go through an inplace repair.
