Has anyone been able to upgrade their 9.1 OS in a non G3 mac? I have a 8550 PowerPC with a G3 upgrade card that I'm running at 366.

From my understanding the answer is no and you should not even try. I purchased a program from sonnet to install OSX on my macs , which are a ppc 7500 with a newertech g3 daughter card and a power center pro with the same card . In the directions it tells you that it is not possible to install it 9.2 on a non apple g3 or g4 rig.
Unfortunetly I was unable to get OSX 10.1 installed either. I still believe I can do it as many others have but have not had the time to really go for it , but I will.
It instructs you to only install 9.1 and the 9.2 startup disk in order to install OSX.
