Is there some software that will back up to CDRWs but span the whole backup over them rather than sorting out what files go on what CD. Or even a program that will span a massive file over some CDs. So if I do a backup of my hard disk (critical files are at 2GB!) then I can span tem over a set of CD's.

Do I make sense? Sorry if I don't first thing in the morning!

Cheers

Genie Back up Manager can back up your computer over several CDs and I believe EZCD Creator 6 can also perform back ups over several cds.

Don't hold me to this, but I think the newer Neros can do it as well.

If you wanna backup your harddisk, better use programs like Acronis TrueImage,Norton Ghost,DriveImage and similar......they are much more reliable to perform a system backup...

Hi,

Au contraire! Both DriveImage and Ghost span CDs as they make a system backup. In addition, both have tools that allow you to selectively restore 1 or more files from the backup rather than doing a full restore. I like and use DriveImage, but Ghost is just as good.

The current versions of Drive Image, Deploy Center and Norton Ghost allow spanning over multiple CDs. Personally, I use Deploy Center, having found it more reliable than Norton Ghost and supports all M$ disk (FAT, FAT32 and all current NTFS) and LINUX volumes.
