Computer won't boot

Hey all. I have the same problem as listed in this topic:

But only 1 stick of ram... not sure of MOBO or processor, but no posting...

any help would be greatly appreciated (especially since it's my bosses computer)

This happened to me recently and it turned out to be dirty contacts on my PCI Modem card.

Pull all of your PCI (and other) boards and clean the contacts. Also remove and re-plug all of your IDE cables. If your RAM is bad, you'll have to borrow a stick to confirm the prob.

I guess it was the connections.

Last night I pulled everything then tried booting. It posted. Added card by card while booting, then HDD, CDs, it works!???!

Now it boots, but have no idea what happened??
