Try to install a Standard 56000 bps Modem

This is what I have make

And I have an hardware modem Aopen_ITU 2 56FM

That's works fine

try ModemHelp.Net if you can't find drivers, I'm a dial-Up tech and we use that site a lot for drivers, inits, etc. ... although I'd think XP would find such a generic modem ...
