The latest issue of British editon of Linux Journal has the freebie CD. It sells for $19 at Chapters here in Toronto. For someone who doesn't have high speed Internet connection, it is a deal

I have just got 8.1 installed , still learning as I go . Mine is tri-booting alongside 9x and XP. I finally got it working after a rough start ,.deleting my windows partition by mistake. Then lost the LILO when re installing XP. More later.

Cheers from Downunder.

Spam if you downloaded it I don'y think the LILO is on the download cuz I had to rebuild my windows boot record to get windows to boot, so I think for me it is not in the download version

Lilo is there , just harder to find , After reinstalling XP if your linux bootloader is gone try this.

boot from Mandrake cd1
hit f1 for the options
type rescue , enter

mount your linux filesystem , mine was on hda5 but it depends here you installed linux to.

type mount -t ext2 /dev/hda5 /mnt , enter

type /mntsbin/lilo -r /mnt , enter

and walah after a reboot you should be able to choose whish os to boot again.
