PICS HAVE TIPPED UP on the interwibble of the upcoming DAAMIT Radeon HD 2600 XT.
The chaps at
OCW have translated the pics, nabbed by Chinese-language site
PCInLife, and uploaded the data
here. The original Chinese author suggests that the card is 65nm, has 256MB of GDDR4 and doesn't have an external power connector, with a maximum power draw of 80W. sounds pretty impressive.
The card appears to have a single-slot cooler, and the board is a decidedly average size for a graphics card, suggesting that this could be a good mainstream purchase. A chunky heatsink covers the vast majority of the board, extending over the RAM and the VRMs. The card looks like it has dual DVI outputs.
Due for release at some point in the next few weeks, the 2600 is part of ATI's 'top to bottom' launch of the R6x0 based parts. Those reviewers that sign NDAs are off to Tunisia next week to spend some time getting acquainted with the new technology under the watchful eye of DAAMIT's PR Benchmarketeers, so expect the steady dribble of information about the technology to turn into a burst pipe, drenching the webble with wibble about the cards.
