Will keep things on schedule
MICROSOFT has decided to doctor its European version of Vista to prevent the EU anti-trust investigators happy.
A rep told
Associated Press that the company had agreed to change how people can set their preferred search service if they upgrade to Microsoft's new Internet Explorer browser.
There have also been tweaks to Vista's security system to address allow other security companies products to work better with the operating system.
Vole has also agreed to let an international standards organisation review a new file format called XPS, that will be included in Windows and the company's Office business suite.
The move will let other companies use the new format, which competes with Adobe. Vole is hoping that the changes, which will be included in all versions the company ships worldwide, will mean that Microsoft will be able to release Vista on time. More
