audio codec

i see on my mobo where the realtek crab is, indicating that the board supports realtek audio codec,it says "rtl1800b", the funny thing is i have downloaded alot of relatek codecs, but none seem to work can ayone tell me if there is such a codec and or what should i use....holla back

Go the the web site that makes the board and you usually will find downloads for all the onboard hardware. That usually does not apply to codecs though, that will get the sound working and video if needed. A little more information will be good as to what your problem is, meaning what does work and what does not work.

that would be a good idea if i knew what board it was, all i know is that im working with an emachine t1842 model, and the driver from the website doesn't work for it
